Founder.
The Orah Sports Academy, T’OSA for short, is a non-profit organization founded by Oramah Massah who had a vision of empowering talented young boys and girls from disadvantaged families in Malawi through sports. The founder is more concerned about bringing a mindset change to the athletes in a way they conduct themselves in and outside the academy on a daily basis and in everything they do. The main focus is on building a ‘talent plus’ athlete who is molded and equipped in all areas of life like Academic education, Mind strengthening, social works, character building, Computer lessons etc. with emphasis on spiritual growth in becoming reliable citizens who will be independent in the future.
The academy is situated in Mchinji Boma after a realization of talent and a lack of esteemed and well-organized sports entities to appreciate and nurture that talent and pointing players in the right direction. At the moment the Academy has a girls and boys football team summing a total of 30 athletes. The academy is designed to offer three sporting disciplines thus; Football, Volleyball and Table Tennis from which each will accommodate both a girls and a boys team. As T’OSA was being established, it only had a boys football team. The girls team was introduced in December of 2021. In 2023, the Academy introduced development teams for both boys and girls which amounts to about 45 athletes in total. There’s arrangements to introduce Volleyball teams early 2023 which will be followed by Table Tennis teams a one and a half years later.
At the moment the academy uses airfield ground to conduct its training sessions and games as a home ground as it waits for academy’s infrastructure to be established. We have a great team of coaches who are very passionate about their work and are well qualified to carry out their duties. In total, the academy has six departments (Welfare, Finance, Information Technology, Facilities, Programs and Sports Techniques).
